Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson has captured The Associated Press WNBA Player of the Year award for an unprecedented third consecutive season. Wilson received 15 of 17 first-place votes from a national media panel in New York on Sunday.
Finishing ahead of Olivia Miles of the Minnesota Lynx, as well as Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell of the Indiana Fever, Wilson secured her fourth career AP award. This milestone achievement breaks a tie with Breanna Stewart for the most honors since the program began in 2016.
“It’s big. It’s an honor for me to do it three times in a row. It’s not easy,” Wilson said in a phone interview with the AP.
The dominant forward continues to set records and cement her legacy in the WNBA. Her latest accolade highlights another remarkable season of leadership and elite performance on the court for the Las Vegas Aces.
