The Milwaukee Brewers have officially locked down the top spot in the Major League Baseball postseason. Following the conclusion of the regular season on September 27, 2026, the team wrapped up a historic campaign with a franchise-record 103-59 record, securing the overall top seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
This achievement marks a major milestone for the franchise, surpassing their previous win record by six games. It also makes the Brewers the first 100-win team in Major League Baseball since 2023. The Los Angeles Dodgers finished right behind them, matching the century-win mark to finish at 100-62.
Because of their top seeding, the Brewers earned a direct bye past the wild-card round. They will rest easy while watching the upcoming best-of-three wild-card series unfold.
National League Postseason Matchups
The opening round of the postseason features intense battles across both leagues, with the wild-card matchups starting on Tuesday, September 29:
- No. 6 Philadelphia Phillies (88-74) vs. No. 3 Atlanta Braves (94-68)
- No. 5 Chicago Cubs (89-73) vs. No. 4 San Diego Padres (91-71)
The winner of the series between the Padres and Cubs will travel to Milwaukee to face the rested Brewers in the National League Division Series (NLDS).
Looking Ahead to the NLDS
The best-of-five NLDS gets underway on Saturday, October 3. As the top seed, the Brewers will host Game 1 and Game 2 at their home ballpark on October 3 and October 4. If the series goes the distance, a decisive Game 5 will also be played in Milwaukee on October 9.
Having finished with a better regular-season record than the American League’s top seed, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Brewers have also guaranteed themselves home-field advantage should they advance all the way to the World Series.
