Grammy-nominated R&B artist Ari Lennox is officially extending her stay in the Vacancy era. Two months after confirming that an expanded project was on the way, the singer released Vacancy: Late Checkout across all major streaming platforms. The deluxe release builds upon her third studio album, Vacancy, which dropped in January as her first full-length project following her departure from Dreamville Records after a decade.
The newly expanded version includes the original 15-track record in full while adding nine fresh tracks. Production and songwriting credits on the new cuts feature prominent names like Tommy “TBHits” Brown, Jay Versace, and Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Allen. Among the standout additions is “Leave Me Alone,” which samples Shabba Ranks’ classic dancehall track “Ting-A-Ling.”
Inside the Sound of ‘Vacancy: Late Checkout’
More than just a standard tracklist extension, Vacancy: Late Checkout explores deeper themes of vulnerability and love. The deluxe edition opens with the fan-favorite cut “Hookah Baby,” built on atmospheric synths, drums, and bass produced by Tommy “TBHits” Brown. The sequence then moves into “Show Me” and the Jay Versace-produced track “Slide.”
Other highlights include “Speak Your Mind,” which pairs storytelling verses with a melodic hook over a danceable groove, and the hypnotic drums of “Unicorn.” The deluxe edition closes with “Hot Mess,” an introspective track where Lennox reflects on personal growth and self-acceptance.

A Monumental Year for Ari Lennox
The arrival of Vacancy: Late Checkout caps off a busy year for the R&B artist. In June, Lennox wrapped up her 31-city North American tour in support of the original Vacancy album. Critical reception for the core project has remained strong, with publications like Pitchfork praising the record for being deeply rooted in personal experience and featuring some of the most refined vocal performances of her career.
Throughout the year, Lennox has maintained a steady public presence. She performed “Twin Flame” on The Jennifer Hudson Show, threw out the ceremonial first pitch for the Seattle Mariners in April, and paid tribute to D’Angelo during an appearance at the 2026 BET Awards. Looking ahead, Lennox is scheduled to return to Austin City Limits for Season 52, where she will deliver a medley spanning her entire discography.
