Bloomsbury Publishing has officially announced two new Harry Potter books. Set for release in February 2027, they expand the popular Pocket Potters line amid fresh publishing and streaming projects across the global Wizarding World franchise. This major literary expansion arrives as interest in magical fantasy series continues to surge across major publishing houses and streaming platforms. Upcoming screen adaptations and expanding universe properties consistently capture high levels of fan engagement.
Illustrated by Helen Brady, the first upcoming title, Pocket Potters: Fred and George, explores the story of the beloved Weasley twins from their mischievous years at Hogwarts to the founding of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. The volume details their famous pranks, magical inventions, and eventual exit from school. Meanwhile, Pocket Potters: McGonagall, illustrated by Natalie Smillie, centers on the formidable Hogwarts professor. It documents her tenure as Head of Gryffindor House, her rigorous Transfiguration lessons, and her steadfast loyalty to the school.
These new additions join a robust catalog of existing releases focused on central characters including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Professor Dumbledore, and Luna Lovegood. They offer highly accessible illustrated guides tailored specifically for younger readers entering the magical universe.
Disney Maintains Momentum with Supernatural Hit Coven Academy
While the Wizarding World continues its literary and television expansion, the television landscape has seen massive audience engagement for Disney+’s magical comedy-drama Coven Academy. Created by Tim Federle, the supernatural series debuted on Freeform and Disney+. It pulled in rave reviews and earned a rare critical reception for its 21-part initial run.
Set in the haunted heart of New Orleans, Coven Academy follows an elite magic boarding school where teenage witches and their warlock peers navigate dangerous powers, ancient supernatural wars, and forbidden romance. The ensemble cast features Malina Pauli Weissman as Briar, Malachi Barton as Jake, Jordan Leftwich as Sasha, Ora Duplass as Tegan, Louis Thresher as vampire student Ollie, and Tiffani Thiessen as headmistress Miss Graves.
Although audiences have responded enthusiastically to the supernatural boarding school drama, Disney and Freeform have not yet officially greenlit a second season. This leaves fans eager to see whether the magical hit will return for a follow-up installment.
