Emmerdale is lining up major drama for the Dingle family as upcoming episodes tease the potential return of Samson Dingle. News of Samson’s impending release from prison has sent shockwaves through the village. His relatives are now preparing for his homecoming, leaving viewers and residents to question what his return means for the Dales.
Samson, played by actor Sam Hall, originally departed the ITV soap in August 2024. His exit followed a dramatic storyline involving a troubled teenager named Josh. During an altercation at The Hide, Josh shoved Samson into Matty Barton, who was holding a kitchen knife. Samson was accidentally stabbed, but Josh coerced him into falsely claiming that Matty had attacked him on purpose.
This lie led to a harrowing prison stint for Matty until Samson finally confessed the truth. As a result, Samson was arrested, charged with perverting the course of justice, and given a four-year prison sentence.
Family Tensions Rise Over Samson’s Looming Release
Recent spoilers reveal that news of Samson’s early release triggers immediate friction at Wishing Well Cottage. The chaos begins when Matty, now living at Emmerdale Farm with Sarah and Jacob, struggles to sleep because baby Leyla cries all night.
To help her son get some rest, Moira Dingle suggests that Matty move into the Dingle family home. However, Belle Dingle immediately senses trouble. Knowing that Samson is due back soon, Belle realizes Matty is moving into the bedroom previously saved for Samson.
A fierce dispute quickly breaks out between Moira, Sam Dingle, and Lydia Dingle. Moira remains unforgiving toward Samson for framing Matty, and her staunch stance alienates her from other family members.
Will Sam Hall Actually Return to Emmerdale?
While the plot paves the way for Samson’s return, details regarding Sam Hall’s physical screen comeback remain under wraps. Hall left the soap in 2024 after playing the character for 15 years, having joined when he was just five years old. In a farewell message, he thanked the cast, crew, and fans, stating, “Hopefully, we’ll see Samson again.”
, James Hooton, who plays Samson’s father Sam Dingle, has expressed a desire to see the character return. He wants to explore the fallout of Samson’s time behind bars. As the Dingle household fractures over past grievances and new housing arrangements, fans await word on whether Samson will walk back into the Dales.
