The controversy began when NBC News published a report detailing allegations of preferential treatment for Combs at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey. According to inmate accounts in the report, the 56-year-old music mogul allegedly enjoyed access to contraband items, including a cell phone, a jailbroken tablet, alcohol, and mood-boosting medications. Sources also claimed that Combs paid other inmates to cook meals, clean his cell, and scrub his shower.

Following the media coverage, sources confirmed to TMZ and NBC News that prison authorities moved Combs into the Special Housing Unit, commonly referred to as “the box,” while an internal review takes place.

50 Cent Quotes ‘Power’ Character to Mock Diddy

True to form, 50 Cent weighed in on the development quickly. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, September 30, the G-Unit boss shared a screenshot of a headline regarding Combs’ move to solitary confinement and quoted his Power character, Kanan Stark.

“Yo the box again for what, whatever they say he did, he did that s–t. LOL,” Jackson captioned the post, before pivoting to promote his project by writing, “ANYWAY STREETFIGHTER OCT16 BOOM.”

The public trolling continued during Jackson’s live performance at LIV Beach in Las Vegas, where he cracked jokes with the concert crowd about his rival’s living situation at the federal facility.

Federal Bureau of Prisons Responds

When contacted by media outlets regarding the reports of solitary confinement and contraband, a representative for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) reiterated standard agency protocols regarding inmate privacy and security.

“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including quarters assignment or whether a particular individual is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions,” a BOP spokesperson stated.

Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence handed down in October 2025 after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act. His projected release date is set for early 2028, though ongoing disciplinary inquiries and custody status shifts could impact his time behind bars.
