The decisive kick capped a remarkable seven-second drive engineered by quarterback Lamar Jackson. Following a kickoff, Jackson connected with wide receiver Zay Flowers on a 27-yard pass to advance to the 39-yard line before immediately calling a timeout with just one second remaining on the game clock.
The wild finish unfolded in front of an announced crowd of 72,792 fans during the NFL’s third regular-season game in Brazil and its first in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The back-and-forth contest featured five lead changes and three total scores in the final 90 seconds of regulation.
Dallas had temporarily leveled the score at 31-31 after kicker Brandon Aubrey nailed a 23-yard field goal with 28 seconds left. The Cowboys had reached the 1-yard line following a defensive pass interference penalty called against Ravens cornerback Nate Wiggins on a pass intended for CeeDee Lamb, though a subsequent false start penalty backed them up before settling for the tie.
Prior to that sequence, the Ravens claimed a 31-28 advantage when Jackson threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Matt Hibner with 1:43 remaining in the fourth quarter. That score followed a crucial goal-line stand where Cowboys linebacker Jaishawn Barham stuffed running back Derrick Henry on a fourth-down rush.
Henry finished the game with 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns, moving past Pro Football Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson into ninth place on the NFL’s career rushing list.
