Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Spotted at Historic British Pub

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were recently spotted together in public for the first time since relocating back to the United Kingdom. They stepped out hand-in-hand for a casual lunch date at a historic Cotswolds establishment, visiting The Falkland Arms. This 16th-century pub and boutique inn is located in the village of Great Tew, Oxfordshire.

The couple moved back to the UK from California in late August along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. They dressed down for their countryside outing. According to photographs published by The Sun, Meghan wore a black turtleneck sweater, dark trousers, and white sneakers, accessorized with sunglasses. Prince Harry wore jeans, a jacket, and sunglasses, completing his look with a Santa Barbara Fire Department baseball cap as a nod to their former home in Montecito.

Traditional British Fare at The Falkland Arms

During their visit to the historic inn, the couple partook in traditional British pub food. Meghan ordered a gluten-free beer-battered haddock and chips, which was served alongside mushy peas and tartar sauce. Meanwhile, Prince Harry chose a classic chicken, ham, and leek pie accompanied by seasonal greens, creamy mashed potatoes, and gravy.

Despite their high-profile status, staff and patrons at the local establishment reportedly treated the royal pair just like any other visitors. A regular patron at the pub shared their experience with The Sun, noting, “Everyone here gets the royal treatment – it doesn’t matter who you are. We’re lucky to get lots of different people visiting us, and everyone is treated like a local. When they visited, Harry and Meghan just acted like locals.”

Adjusting to Life Back in the UK

The relaxed pub lunch provides a glimpse into the family’s ongoing transition as they settle into an extended stay in Britain. The couple’s return has also brought focused attention to family adjustments and ongoing security discussions. Earlier in the autumn, the Duke and Duchess addressed safety concerns regarding media presence around their children’s school environment. They issued a statement through their spokesperson condemning the proximity of photographers near the campus.

While managing privacy challenges and settling into their new residence in the Cotswolds, Prince Harry has continued his public engagements and philanthropic work. This includes speaking on military transition and his ongoing preparations for the Invictus Games. Meanwhile, Meghan has focused on helping Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet settle smoothly into their new surroundings following their summer move.
