The BBC has announced that the reality competition Celebrity Race Across The World will return on Wednesday, October 28, at 8:00 PM. Broadcasting on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, the upcoming fourth series features the longest and most physically demanding route in the show’s history. It spans approximately 7,500 kilometers across two continents and three countries.

The 7,500km Route from Borneo to Australia

For its fourth outing, the BAFTA-winning show produced by Studio Lambert takes contestants further from the UK than ever before. The adventure begins in Kuching, located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak in North West Borneo. From the gateway of the island’s wilderness and jungles, four celebrity duos must navigate across South East Asia toward the finish line in Melbourne, Australia.

BBC executives state that this year’s journey highlights extreme geographical and cultural landscapes. It tests the endurance, patience, and adaptability of every participant.

Meet the Four Celebrity Duos

Leaving behind luxury, smartphones, and credit cards, four pairs of famous faces take on the cross-continental challenge. Equipped with only a map, local transport, and a restricted daily budget of £26 per person, the confirmed celebrity line-up includes:

  • Ella Eyre and Nana: The Brit award-winning singer-songwriter teams up with her childhood friend.
  • Jeff Stelling and Matt: The veteran sports broadcaster races alongside his son.
  • Princess Andre and Junior Andre: The influencer and her musician brother take on the family bonding challenge together.
  • Sam Ryder and Kaz: The acclaimed singer, songwriter, and musician partners with his best friend and tour manager.

The Rules of the Ultimate Travel Challenge

Staying true to the franchise format, contestants rely completely on resourcefulness, land and sea transport, and the kindness of strangers. Air travel is strictly prohibited. Every transport choice and financial decision directly impacts how close teams get to consecutive checkpoints.

Tim Harcourt, Chief Creative Officer at Studio Lambert, noted that audiences enjoy seeing their favorite stars face raw and demanding conditions in spectacular environments. Meanwhile, Commissioning Editor Jasmyn McGuile stated that viewers have long anticipated a route reaching Australia, making this Borneo start a historic first for the show.

Fans can watch the premiere of the six-part series starting October 28 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with new episodes airing weekly.
