NBC’s flagship morning program, the TODAY show, is packing its bags for a historic international broadcast. On October 16, the network will move all four hours of its live broadcast across the Atlantic to Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland. The special event marks a major overseas production for the morning show, bringing its signature style and full presenting team directly to the scenic Irish countryside.
An All-Star Lineup Heads to County Kerry
The entire roster of weekday anchors and hosts is scheduled to make the journey to Ireland. Viewers can expect to see Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Carson Daly, Dylan Dreyer, Jenna Bush Hager, and Sheinelle Jones anchoring the broadcast on location. Additionally, NBC News Chief International Correspondent Keir Simmons will join the team on the ground to report on regional stories.
Advance preparation for the international broadcast is already underway. Al Roker traveled to Ireland ahead of his colleagues, while Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly arrived on October 14 to finalize production logistics. The remaining hosts will round out the team for the live morning lineup.
Broadcasting from Sheen Falls Lodge
The entire four-hour production will take place at Sheen Falls Lodge, a luxury five-star hotel situated across 300 acres of woodland. The property overlooks the convergence of Kenmare Bay and the Sheen River, providing a dramatic backdrop for the morning program.
Brian Loughnane, general manager of Sheen Falls Lodge, described the upcoming visit as a historic occasion. “To have one of America’s most iconic morning programs broadcast live from our hotel, and from Ireland for the first time, is an incredible honor and a wonderful opportunity to showcase to an international audience,” Loughnane stated.
Tourism Ireland and Segment Sponsorships
The special international broadcast is officially sponsored by Tourism Ireland, which aims to highlight the region’s landscapes, hospitality, and cultural heritage to an audience of more than 3 million U.S. viewers.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s executive vice president for the U.S. and Canada, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “We are delighted to welcome TODAY to Ireland and to showcase the breathtaking beauty of the island of Ireland, our vibrant culture, and the warmth of our people to millions of viewers across the U.S.,” Metcalfe said. “From our rich heritage to world-class golf, famous Irish hospitality and authentic local experiences, Ireland offers something for everyone.”
Throughout the morning segments, the broadcast will touch upon various parts of the island, including the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient East, Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, Dublin, and Northern Ireland. Additional commercial support for the broadcast segments is provided by Kerrygold and Primark.
What Viewers Can Expect
Beyond the scenic views of County Kerry, the four-hour program will feature human-interest stories, local cultural explorations, and surprise celebrity guests. The production team aims to connect American and international audiences with authentic local experiences, showcasing traditional Irish music, food, and community projects.
Fans based in the United States and local supporters in Ireland have been given opportunities to engage with the production, as NBC works to capture the vibrant atmosphere of the region live on air.
