A Sacramento County man faces murder charges after investigators linked him to the disappearance and death of his wife, 30-year-old Jasmine Gill. Her burned remains were discovered in neighboring El Dorado County, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Gurinder Gill was arrested on Wednesday, October 14, following a missing-person and homicide investigation.
The case began when Jasmine Gill was reported missing by her cousin on October 4, 2026, four days after she was last seen on the evening of September 30 near Headstock Street and Allegretto Way in the Florin area of Sacramento County. Detectives initially questioned Gurinder Gill regarding her whereabouts. According to the sheriff’s office, he claimed that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had taken his wife into custody while she was checking the mail outside their home.

As the investigation progressed, authorities identified several inconsistencies in Gurinder Gill’s statements.
Investigators also uncovered that the couple had been involved in an ongoing divorce and child custody dispute. Meanwhile, on October 1, just one day after Jasmine was last seen, burned human remains were discovered in El Dorado County. Authorities later positively identified those remains as belonging to Jasmine Gill.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Armed with evidence gathered during the inquiry, Sacramento County homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Gurinder Gill on sus**cion of murder. Law enforcement located and arrested him on October 14, subsequently executing search warrants at two residences associated with him.
Gurinder Gill was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a murder charge and is currently being held without bail. Authorities have not yet released additional details concerning the exact cause of Jasmine Gill’s death or how her remains were transported to El Dorado County. The investigation remains active as the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office continues to process evidence.
