Comedian Carrot Top is planning to return to his long-running Las Vegas stage show on October 19. This comeback happens nearly a month after a reported medical emergency and hospitalization forced the cancellation of several live performances.
The 61-year-old entertainer, whose legal name is Scott Thompson, announced his upcoming return on Instagram. He thanked his fans and supporters for their messages throughout his recovery. The scheduled event marks his return to the comedy residency at the Luxor Hotel, where he has performed regularly since 2005.
Thompson’s public statement is his first official communication regarding his condition after an incident on September 18. That event led to the cancellation of shows originally scheduled through September 20. In his social media message, the comic acknowledged an outpouring of well wishes from fans and peers while he recovered with the support of loved ones.
Reports referencing police documentation state that emergency responders found Thompson at his Las Vegas home after his management team raised concerns. He was then transported to a medical facility for treatment. Representatives for the performer later confirmed that he was recovering and breathing independently before returning home to complete his convalescence.
The upcoming Monday evening performance at the Luxor Hotel’s Atrium Showroom will resume his regular schedule. Neither representatives for the venue nor the comedian’s management have released additional details regarding the specifics of his medical leave. They have chosen instead to focus entirely on his return to the stage.
