Authorities in Monroe County are actively investigating a double homicide after a domestic incident left two people dead inside a guest room at a popular resort in the Pocono Mountains. The Monroe County Coroner’s Office confirmed the ongoing investigation on Tuesday, October 13, noting that the case is in its early stages.

The incident occurred at the Great Wolf Lodge, located at 1 Great Wolf Drive in Scotrun, Pennsylvania, within Pocono Township. Officials and resort management reported that the fatal event happened inside a guest room on Monday. The Pocono Township Police Department is leading the inquiry.

Resort Issues Statement on Isolated Domestic Incident

Representatives for Great Wolf Lodge confirmed that the tragedy stemmed from an isolated family incident and assured the public that there is no broader threat to guest safety. In an official statement, the resort expressed profound sorrow over the event:

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains. It was an isolated family incident, and we’re cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected.”

Resort management added that all further inquiries regarding the specifics of the case should be directed to the Pocono Township Police Department.

Operational Status and Guest Accommodations

Despite the police investigation, operations at the resort continue. Officials reported that a small, specific area of the property remains restricted to maintain the integrity of the crime scene and assist law enforcement.

Resort administration has implemented flexible accommodation policies for guests who feel uneasy visiting the property. Guests with existing reservations who wish to postpone their trips may do so with zero change fees.

As the investigation continues under the direction of Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac and local police, authorities plan to release further updates. Anyone with direct information relevant to the case is urged to contact the Pocono Township Police Department.
