Baltimore County emergency crews successfully rescued a child who was trapped inside a burning basement during a Sunday afternoon house fire in Loch Raven.
First responders rushed to the 8500 block of Pleasant Plains Road at approximately 1 p.m. upon receiving reports of a residential blaze. When units arrived, they immediately observed heavy smoke and active flames pouring from the home’s basement.
Firefighters made a rapid entry into the structure, locating and safely extracting the trapped child from the lower level. Officials confirmed that all other occupants managed to escape the dwelling on their own before crews arrived.
Rapid Response Contained the Blaze
Thanks to an aggressive interior attack, emergency personnel brought the flames under control within 20 minutes. The fire was officially declared fully extinguished by 1:20 p.m.
Two individuals, including the rescued child, were evaluated at the scene and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities stated that both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Local investigators are currently examining the scene to determine the exact origin and cause of the basement fire. No further details regarding the incident have been released at this time.
