Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, performing under his stage name DJ Diesel, headlined a high-energy postgame musical event on Saturday night. The concert took place at the Tippecanoe County Amphitheater, located just north of West Lafayette, following Purdue University’s football matchup against Notre Dame.
The outdoor venue brought together a large crowd of students and local community members for a full night of live music, fireworks, and entertainment. Recording artist T-Pain, also known as Teddy Pain, performed alongside O’Neal to deliver joint live sets during the event.
Organizers originally slated the massive concert to take place at the Neon Cactus. However, overwhelming public interest prompted a necessary venue change before the big night.
Former Neon Cactus owner Angie Brown noted that ticket demand quickly outgrew the physical limits of the local establishment. This massive surge in popularity led organizers to relocate the entire production to the larger Tippecanoe County Amphitheater to accommodate the crowds safely.
The successful event combined sports and heavy bass music, giving Purdue fans a memorable celebration following the weekend’s football showdown.
