Actress Ella Bright has officially put to rest any rumors of on-set friction between her and her Off Campus costar, Belmont Cameli. Speaking on the blue carpet at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27, the 19-year-old star clarified that she and Cameli remain close friends despite online speculation.
Speculation regarding a fallout between the actors-who star as Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham in the Prime Video adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s popular romance novel series-began after observant fans noticed the pair had archived Instagram photos featuring each other.
Bright poked fun at the internet drama while chatting about how she and Cameli reacted to the rumors in real time while working together on set.
“Belmont and I spend every day on set together,” Bright shared. “We’re in the green room, and he’s on his phone scrolling. He’s like, ‘Ha! Remember when that happened?’ I was like, ‘That never happened.’ It’s so funny. So, we’re just laughing about it. That’s all you can do.”
As for cleaning up their social media grids, the Malory Towers star joked about wanting a clean aesthetic for her profile.
“I mean, god forbid I wanted an aesthetic Instagram,” she joked. “My bad. I’m so sorry!”
Strong Bonds Among the Off Campus Cast
Moving past the online chatter, Bright emphasized that Cameli and her other fellow cast members-including Mika Abdalla, Stephen Kalyn, Antonio Cipriano, and Jalen Thomas Brooks-have become a tight-knit family.
“So much love,” she said. “That’s my family.”
With filming for season two of Off Campus officially wrapped, Bright admitted she is going to miss the daily routine of seeing her castmates, noting that viewers can expect great ensemble moments in the upcoming episodes.
“It feels very comfortable, and it’s just been a blast,” Bright added. “I’m really gonna miss them. I was really sad at the wrap party.”
