Musician Kid Rock has unveiled the official tracklist for his upcoming Christian rock album, Halfway 2 Jesus, revealing an unexpected collaboration with fellow Detroit native and rapper Eminem. Scheduled for release on October 17, 2026, the 17-track project marks Kid Rock’s first deliberate entry into faith-based music.
The collaboration appears on track three of the album, titled “7 Sins.” Word of the joint track initially sparked skepticism across social media when Kid Rock posted the tracklist on X (formerly Twitter) on October 1, 2026. Many fans questioned how two artists with vastly different political stances could appear on a Christian release. However, a representative for Eminem confirmed to media outlets that the feature is authentic and will appear on the final record.
Bridging Political Divides Through Music
In an advance foreword of the album obtained by entertainment publications, Kid Rock-born Robert James Ritchie-addressed the guest appearance directly. He explained that the collaboration serves as a message about maintaining personal relationships despite ideological disagreements.
“I’m proud of the guests who joined me, especially my old friend Eminem,” Kid Rock writes in the album’s foreword. “His verse speaks to something we’ve talked about and that really needs to be heard: we differ politically and on other things, but we’ve stayed friends through it all. We hope that sets an example for people who’ve lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently.”
The two Detroit artists share a history stretching back nearly three decades. Before achieving mainstream stardom, they crossed paths in the local Michigan music scene. Eminem contributed a guest verse to “F-k Off,” a track on Kid Rock’s breakthrough 1998 studio album, Devil Without a Cause. Later, Kid Rock made a cameo appearance in the music video for Eminem’s 2013 single “Berzerk.”

Halfway 2 Jesus serves as Kid Rock’s first full-length project since his 2022 album, Bad Reputation. Alongside Eminem, the record features contributions from Rascal Flatts frontman Gary LeVox and country singer Jimmie Allen on the title track.

The project’s tracklist also includes songs such as “Freedom,” “Why Don’t You Look Into Jesus,” “Me and Jesus,” and a closing cover of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.”
