Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Konata Mumpfield is positioning himself for a potential breakout role as the team prepares for Week 3. During Monday night’s victory against the New York Giants, Mumpfield led all Rams wideouts by logging a 69 percent snap share on offense.
The elevated playing time came as star receiver Puka Nacua was sidelined due to a hip injury. With Nacua out of the lineup, Mumpfield saw an expanded role on the field, though it initially resulted in limited statistical production. During the contest, he hauled in one of his two targets for 12 yards.
The Rams passing attack has historically funneled targets through top receiving options, leaving fewer opportunities for depth pieces in the rotation. Other reserve wideouts have also seen limited involvement early in the season:
- Tutu Atwell: Recorded one reception for 19 yards in Week 2.
- Konata Mumpfield: Logged one catch on three targets for 12 yards across the early part of the season.
