Middle East Ministries Provide Biblical Trauma Care in Gaza

October 4, 2026 2 min read 0 comments

Displaced Palestinian refugees who fled the Gaza Strip are receiving targeted biblical trauma care and spiritual support from Global Catalytic Ministries (GCM) in an undisclosed neighboring country. These relief efforts come amid ongoing, widespread destruction throughout the Gaza territory following continuous military airstrikes and nearly a year of formal ceasefire efforts.

According to United Nations data, bombings and structural collapses in the Gaza Strip have generated 20 times the amount of rubble recorded in all global conflicts combined since 2008. This heavy infrastructural devastation has left thousands of residents displaced, with many lacking permanent homes or clear pathways for return.

“If you have an understanding of what the ground looks like in Gaza, it is completely decimated,” said Mark, a representative with Global Catalytic Ministries whose identity was kept confidential for security reasons.

Addressing Physical and Emotional Needs

Church planters and relief workers associated with GCM focus heavily on meeting both the immediate physical needs and the psychological burdens carried by families displaced by the conflict. Workers operate across regional boundaries to offer emotional interventions anchored in scripture.

“We’re working with Palestinians in a neighboring country who have been moved out of Gaza. We’re seeing the Holy Spirit move in very tangible ways in their lives and in their families,” Mark explained. “There’s just a real desperation right now that only Jesus could fill.”

Ministry representatives utilize biblical teachings to help individuals process severe personal losses, including the deaths of family members and the complete destruction of their communities. By pairing psychological first aid with scripture readings, workers report that refugees are finding avenues to process deep grief.

The Impact of Faith-Based Trauma Counseling

For many refugees navigating life outside the war zone, faith-based counseling provides a framework to address trauma-induced symptoms such as post-traumatic stress and chronic depression. Ministries active in the region emphasize that addressing profound emotional wounds is an essential step before individuals can fully engage with spiritual messages.

GCM continues to coordinate with local believers and church planters operating in high-risk environments across the Middle East. Organization leaders request ongoing international prayer for the safety, security, and operational concealment of field workers as they connect displaced populations with humanitarian resources and pastoral care.
