Oba Femi and Bronson Reed are officially set to collide in a high-stakes singles match at WWE Money in the Bank. The matchup was finalized during Monday Night Raw in Milwaukee, bringing their escalating rivalry to a head after weeks of physical altercations and interference from Paul Heyman’s stable, The Vision.
Contract Signed on Monday Night Raw
The confrontation on Raw began when Oba Femi marched down to the ring carrying an official contract. Femi noted that a wise man had taught him how to conduct business properly. He revealed that Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Triple H Levesque had already approved the bout. Femi wasted no time signing the document and demanded that Bronson Reed come to the ring to make it official.
Reed answered the call, arriving dressed in black to address their history. The powerhouse reminded Femi that they had shared the ring twice previously and that he had put Femi down on both occasions. Dismissing comparisons to Brock Lesnar-whom Femi famously defeated at WrestleMania 42-Reed made it clear that his goal was to single-handedly dethrone “The Ruler” rather than repeat what others had done. Reed then signed the agreement, sealing the match for the upcoming premium live event.
Origins of the Feud
The bad blood between Femi and Reed began at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6. During Femi’s match against Bron Breakker, Reed made a surprise return after months on the sidelines due to a biceps injury. Reed brutally attacked Femi with a steel chair, resulting in a disqualification win for Femi. Immediately following the bell, Reed and Breakker delivered a relentless assault featuring multiple Spears and Tsunamis.
The attacks continued on subsequent episodes of RAW at the hands of The Vision. After taking a brief week off television, Femi returned on September 21 to make the save for Je’Von Evans. He cleared the heels out of the ring, setting the stage for his revenge.
Money in the Bank Event Details
Money in the Bank is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to the explosive showdown between Oba Femi and Bronson Reed, the card features Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight, alongside the traditional Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Matches.
As the segment closed, Femi delivered a final warning to his upcoming opponent: “Heyman sent you here to stop me from breathing. Heyman’s playing games because he sent you to stop the one man that he knows can’t be stopped. Welcome back, Bronson Reed, and good luck. You are going to need it.”
