Hairy Bikers star Si King has shared that he has found love again with a new partner, nearly two years after the death of his beloved best friend and television co-star, Dave Myers. The 59-year-old chef opened up about his blossoming relationship, describing his partner as a “very special lady” and confirming that he is currently very happy.
Speaking to The Sunday Times magazine, King reflected on finding happiness following a deeply challenging period of grief. He was identified alongside Staffordshire-based designer and property manager Caroline Witcomb, known to friends as Milly. The couple have recently enjoyed trips together, including a getaway to Tuscany in Italy and local dates around the North East of England where King resides.
“She is a very special lady. She really is,” King told the publication. “I'm very happy. It's been wonderful and continues to be wonderful. And you know, I think the lads [his sons] are really happy, as is my ex-wife Jane, actually.”
Navigating Life and Grief After Dave Myers' Passing
The new relationship marks a positive turn for King. He admitted that he initially wanted to isolate himself from the world following the death of Dave Myers. Myers passed away at the age of 66 in February 2024 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. His death brought an end to the iconic Hairy Bikers television partnership, which spanned more than 30 series and 27 cookbooks.
In the wake of his friend's passing, King confessed that he felt completely lost. He even considered stepping away from the public eye entirely. However, support from family and his return to work helped him navigate the profound absence of his lifelong friend.
Reflecting on his grieving process earlier this month, King described grief as a constant surprise. He noted that it brings a complex mix of emotions, including anger, confusion, and abandonment. He also spoke candidly about experiencing a sense of guilt during his first year back on television without Myers by his side.
Family Support and Moving Forward
King's relationship with Milly has received warm backing from both families. King shares three sons-Alex, James, and Dylan-with his ex-wife Jane Dodd, whom he separated from in 2016 after 27 years of marriage. Reports indicate that his sons are fully supportive of his new chapter. Meanwhile, Milly's daughter, Olivia, has shared glimpses of the couple's travels and celebrations together on social media, highlighting their close bond.
While King continues to process the emotional impact of losing his closest friend and creative partner, his willingness to open his heart once again marks a significant and heartwarming step forward.
