Taylor Swift is set to deliver a live musical performance at the upcoming 2026 Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. The high-profile annual fundraising event, scheduled for October 17, will feature Swift’s performance as the grand finale to an evening dedicated to celebrating cinema and honoring prominent figures in the film industry.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures officially announced the superstar’s upcoming appearance on Thursday, October 8, just nine days before the ceremony takes place at the museum facility in Los Angeles. Amy Homma, director and president of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection, highlighted the impact of Swift joining the lineup to close out the night.

“Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world,” Amy Homma said in an official statement. “We are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema.”

Honorees and Gala Purpose

Now in its sixth year, the Academy Museum Gala serves as a major fundraising event designed to advance the institution’s core mission. Proceeds generated from the evening directly support the museum’s ongoing exhibitions, public educational programming, film screenings, and broader efforts to preserve cinematic history.

The 2026 event will shine a spotlight on three major honorees representing excellence in filmmaking and performance:

  • Charlize Theron: Oscar-winning actress recognized for her extensive contributions to film.
  • Colman Domingo: Two-time Oscar-nominated actor known for powerhouse dramatic performances.
  • John Carpenter: Legendary filmmaker and composer celebrated for shaping modern horror and sci-fi cinema.

Star-Studded Leadership and Host Committee

The prestigious evening is backed by a prominent group of co-chairs, including renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg alongside Kate Capshaw and Robert Rodriguez. Additionally, a large assembly of prominent actors, directors, and artists make up this year’s Academy Museum Host Committee.

Notable members of the host committee include Jessica Alba, Judd Apatow, Leslie Mann, Autumn Durald Arkapaw, Adrien Brody, Georgina Chapman, Jon M. Chu, Kirsten Dunst, Nicholas Galitzine, Ludwig and Serena Göransson, Regina Hall, Kate Hudson, Jessica Lange, Greta Lee, John Legend, and Chrissy Teigen.

The committee is further rounded out by Rami Malek, Demi Moore, Olivia Munn, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Questlove, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Seth Rogen, Lauren Miller Rogen, Bird Runningwater, and Teyana Taylor.

Recent Musical Appearances

Swift’s upcoming performance at the museum gala follows a series of notable musical milestones and public appearances. Earlier in August, the “Love Story” singer made a surprise appearance at the Grammy Museum, where she treated audiences to a unique acoustic mashup of fan-favorite tracks including “All Too Well,” “I Knew It, I Knew You,” and “August.”

Her return to the live stage also closely follows a major awards season run that included releasing fresh music and receiving the inaugural Artist Director Honors at the 2026 Video Music Awards.

With tickets and tables drawing immense industry interest, the 2026 Academy Museum Gala stands as one of the fall season’s premier cultural events, bridging the worlds of high-end filmmaking and global pop superstardom.
