NBC has implemented major schedule and structural updates for Season 30 of The Voice. The network has permanently moved the popular singing competition to Monday nights and eliminated traditional intermediate rounds in favor of a high-stakes format known as Cut Week.
The revised weekly broadcast schedule took effect on Monday, October 19, 2026. Under the new lineup, The Voice airs as a single two-hour episode each Monday at 8 p.m. ET. It shifts to 9 p.m. ET when Cut Week launches on November 2. The network reallocated the show’s historical Tuesday time slot to NBA basketball coverage following NBC’s new multi-year broadcasting partnership with the league.
According to executive producer Audrey Morrissey, the weekly consolidation also introduces real-time viewing and voting mechanics. Contestants perform, viewers cast votes via SMS or TikTok during the broadcast, and elimination outcomes are finalized within the exact same episode.
What Is Cut Week on The Voice Season 30?
Cut Week replaces both the Knockout and Playoff rounds. It serves as the sole competitive barrier between the Battle Rounds and the Live Shows. Network organizers have categorized Cut Week as the largest elimination event in the history of the franchise.
The Battles continue through Monday, October 26. Following this, each coach enters Cut Week with seven remaining artists, which includes six battle winners plus one stolen contestant. The progression operates under specific parameters:
- Direct Advance: Each coach selects two artists from their team to advance straight to the Live Shows.
- The Five-Artist Face-Off: The remaining five team members compete for a single remaining spot.
- Coach Final Team: Each coach enters the Live Shows with three primary team winners, establishing an initial Top 12.
- America’s Wildcard Vote: Viewers vote one additional eliminated artist back into the competition, creating a final Top 13 roster heading into the Live Shows.
Additional Season 30 Format Changes
Season 30 introduces several brand-new rule modifications beyond Cut Week and the Monday night schedule shift. These changes are designed to alter coach strategies and fan engagement:
- The First-In Button: This replaces the traditional Block mechanic during Blind Auditions. It allows the coach who turns their chair first to automatically claim an artist during a multi-chair turn. Each coach is limited to one use per season.
- Simulcast Live Shows: For the first time in series history, Live Show episodes will stream live simultaneously on NBC and Peac**k across all time zones.
- TikTok Artist of the Season: This is a fan-driven recognition award based on aggregate likes and direct shares of official performance clips posted on the show’s TikTok account.
New episodes of The Voice air Mondays on NBC and stream the following day on Peac**k.
