Spencer Spirit Holdings has announced that its festive holiday spinoff, Spirit Christmas, will expand its footprint for the upcoming holiday season. The seasonal retailer will open 44 stores across 15 U.S. states, stretching from New England down to Florida and across to the Great Lakes.
The concept first launched in 2024 with a trial of eight locations in the Northeast. Following a successful run that saw the store count expand to 30 locations across 12 states, the 2026 rollout marks the brand’s largest expansion to date, pushing the total number of storefronts to 44.
“The holidays are so much more than what’s under the tree. They’re about the traditions families return to year after year and the magic of creating new ones,” said Kym Sarkos, executive vice president of Spirit, in a news release. “Spirit Christmas was created to celebrate that feeling.”
Grand Openings and Early Access
To kick off the season, five select Spirit Christmas locations will host grand opening celebrations on Saturday, Oct. 17. These early-bird stores are located in Mays Landing, Riverdale, and Marlton, New Jersey; Winter Garden, Florida; and Youngstown, Ohio. The first 50 customers to visit each of these five locations will receive a special surprise.
The remaining 39 stores will open during the first week of November. These locations will rapidly transition out of their current setups as Spirit Halloween stores once the spooky season concludes, swapping out haunted decor for holiday cheer.
What to Expect Inside Spirit Christmas
Billed as a one-stop destination for all things Christmas, the stores offer immersive environments alongside extensive retail options. Visitors can experience themed attractions right upon entry, beginning with the Candy Cane Express, which features seasonal sights, sounds, and scents. The retail inventory spans a broad array of seasonal merchandise, including:
- Holiday home decor and ornaments
- Classic and licensed nutcrackers
