The Hallmark Channel is expanding its seasonal programming with the premiere of The Spirit of Halloween. This television romance film offers a distinct spin on a classic literary tale. Airing on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 8:00 pm ET/PT, the movie serves as the final installment of Hallmark’s “Fall Into Love” 2026 programming slate. It bridges the gap between autumn events and the network’s heavy winter holiday schedule.
Plot Overview: A Dickens Twist for October
Originally announced under the working title A Halloween Carol, the film reimagines Charles Dickens’ iconic holiday structure for the spooky season. The narrative centers on Everly Stone, played by Meghan Ory. She is a talented bridal designer who avoids Halloween at all costs. Her aversion stems from a public heartbreak years prior at the town’s beloved fire-station Halloween bash.
As All Hallows’ Eve approaches, Everly’s perspective is challenged when her late mentor delivers a glamorous warning. She is subsequently swept through a transformative night by three mischievous spirits. These spirits unveil the joy she has neglected, the people she has pushed away, and the future awaiting her if she changes course. Alongside her career pressures, she must navigate a loyal assistant eager for more responsibility. She also deals with her longtime friend Beau Madison, played by Kevin McGarry, who still harbors feelings from their shared past.
