Big Brother 28 Crowns Winner in 90-Minute Finale on Oct 1

CBS will air the highly anticipated 90-minute season finale of Big Brother 28 on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. This event caps off a summer-long competition for the $750,000 grand prize. Remaining houseguests Rick Devens, Taylor Brown, and Drew Campbell face the concluding stages of the final Head of Household challenge after CBS adjusted its usual broadcasting schedule.

The network deviated from its standard Wednesday routine during the final week. It filled its Sept. 30 broadcast slot with alternative programming, including Survivor 51 and The Amazing Race, according to the Democrat and Chronicle. The live finale on Oct. 1 will determine the season champion, execute the final live eviction, and announce the recipient of the America’s Favorite Houseguest award on CBS and Paramount+.

The Final Head of Household Battle

The intense three-part final Head of Household competition kicked off during Sunday’s penultimate episode. Dressed in colonial-era attire, the Final 3 tackled the Benjamin Franklin-themed “Shock & Roll” endurance challenge. They balanced precariously on moving logs while holding kite poles amid simulated rain.

The structure of the final Head of Household competition determines who holds ultimate power heading into eviction night:

  • Part 1: All three remaining houseguests compete in an endurance challenge, with the winner securing an automatic spot in Part 3.
  • Part 2: The remaining two players compete against each other, with that winner also advancing to Part 3.
  • Part 3: The winners of Part 1 and Part 2 face off live. The ultimate victor becomes the Final Head of Household and earns the sole power to decide who sits beside them in the Final 2.

The unlucky houseguest left unchosen during the final phase will be immediately evicted and sent to join the jury house.

Season 28 Elimination History and Jury Lineup

As the game reaches its climax, a robust jury waits to grill the final two contestants before casting their votes for the $750,000 winner. The evicted houseguests comprising the Season 28 jury include:

  • Ashley Trail (Week 1)
  • Rome Seymour (Week 2)
  • Jason De Puy (Week 3)
  • Lyric Medeiros (Week 4)
  • Chuk Anyanwu (Week 5)
  • Mallory Aurichio (Week 7)
  • Haley Thogmartin (Week 8 – 1,000th Episode Twist)
