Burger King has officially launched its limited-time Hello Kitty and Friends King Jr. Kids’ Meal at participating restaurants across the United States. Announced on October 19, 2026, and rolling out nationwide on October 20, 2026, the collaboration with Sanrio introduces six collectible toys packed inside mystery blind boxes, alongside themed packaging and an exclusive wearable paper crown.
The fast-food chain’s latest promotion brings several iconic pop-culture characters into the spotlight. Each King Jr. Meal features a single mystery box containing one of six Sanrio figures. The lineup includes Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and Keroppi. Every character is designed wearing a traditional Burger King paper crown, with several figures holding miniature versions of popular menu items.
The Chase For The Rare Golden Hello Kitty Toy
To add an extra layer of excitement for collectors, Burger King included a special golden-colored Hello Kitty figure in the mix. According to the company, customers who uncover this rare golden toy receive a complete set of all six regular collectibles. Because the items are distributed randomly inside blind boxes while supplies last, fans will face the surprise element of not knowing which character they have secured until opening the package.
“We’re excited to deliver another fun and engaging King Jr. Meal – this time with the one and only Hello Kitty!” said Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer at Burger King US&C. “To celebrate our partnership, a limited number of golden Hello Kitty toys will be included in our six-toy lineup. We look forward to our Guests enjoying the Hello Kitty King Jr. Meal along with our limited-time Hello Kitty Burger King Crown.”
What Comes Inside The King Jr. Meal?
Every Hello Kitty and Friends King Jr. Kids’ Meal comes with a designated food option, a side, a drink, and the promotional toy collection. Customers can choose from a four-piece or six-piece order of chicken nuggets, a standard hamburger, or a cheeseburger. Side choices include French fries or applesauce, accompanied by a beverage of choice.
The entire meal is served in custom, supercute Hello Kitty and Friends themed packaging bags. Additionally, every meal includes an exclusive themed Burger King crown designed with Sanrio graphics, available at participating locations while supplies last.
“We love seeing Hello Kitty and Friends get the royal treatment at Burger King, with each character sporting their own iconic BK crown,” said Jill Koch, Chief Brand Officer at Sanrio, Inc. “Bringing these beloved characters into the King Jr. Kids’ Meal in such a playful way creates something special for fans of all ages to enjoy.”
Special Golden Claw Machine Event In California
To celebrate the launch, Burger King is hosting a special one-day promotional event in Southern California. On Friday, October 23, starting at 11 a.m. PST, the Burger King restaurant located at 10014 Paramount Blvd. in Downey, California, will feature a customized Golden Claw Machine.
Visitors who purchase a King Jr. Meal at that location can test their luck at the claw machine for a chance to win extra Hello Kitty toys. One participant at the event will also walk away with a grand prize: a one-of-one, 14K gold-plated Hello Kitty figurine. Official rules for participating without a purchase are posted directly at the venue.
Availability And Future Outlook
The Hello Kitty and Friends King Jr. Kids’ Meal is available now at participating Burger King locations nationwide. The promotion runs strictly for a limited time while supplies last, and Burger King has not announced a definitive end date for the toy distribution. Customers looking to check local restaurant participation, check golden toy availability, or place mobile orders can do so via the official Burger King website or the brand’s mobile application.
This collaboration marks another major fast-food partnership for the Sanrio brand in 2026, following similar promotional campaigns across other major restaurant chains earlier in the year.
