A 46-year-old resident of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, has entered a guilty plea in federal court on drug trafficking charges tied to the distribution of powder and crack throughout Okaloosa County, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Kawana D. Gamble formally admitted guilt to federal charges stemming from a multi-month narcotics investigation conducted by local and federal law enforcement agencies. According to court filings, Gamble participated in a drug distribution conspiracy operating from May 2024 through September 2025.

Investigation Details and Seizures

Federal and local investigators used several techniques to build their case against Gamble. Court documents show that law enforcement executed controlled substance purchases, reviewed detailed cellphone communication data, and carried out a search warrant at Gamble’s Okaloosa County residence.

During the search warrant and related operations, officers recovered significant quantities of illicit substances. Officials seized more than 660 grams of powder and over 50 grams of crack directly from Gamble.

Legal Charges and Facing Sentencing

Gamble’s guilty plea covers severe federal indictments. The formal charges brought against her include conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, alongside specific counts of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of powder and 28 grams or more of crack.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has not yet announced a scheduled date for Gamble’s sentencing hearing. Due to the quantity of narcotics involved and the federal nature of the charges, she faces substantial mandatory minimum prison sentences under federal guidelines.
