Romania head coach Gheorghe Hagi took full accountability for his team’s 4-2 defeat against Bosnia and Herzegovina in UEFA Nations League action on September 28, 2026, at the National Arena. The national team manager admitted that his decision to swap nine starting players backfired significantly, leaving the Tricolori at the bottom of Group B4 without a point after two matches.
Hagi made extensive lineup changes compared to the previous 2-1 loss against Sweden, retaining only goalkeeper Ionut Radu and young defender Andrei Coubis from the initial whistle. The heavy rotation aimed to keep squad energy high, mirroring earlier friendly experiments against Georgia and Wales, but failed to deliver results in official competitive play.
