Mathematician and broadcaster Hannah Fry revealed that her heart rate spiked during filming of The Celebrity Traitors. Smart‑ring data showed seven peaks over two and a half hours, rising from about 60 bpm while sleeping to a high of 135 bpm before breakfast.
Fry posted the graph on Instagram after the episode aired. A typical adult resting heart rate is 60-100 bpm while awake, making her spike above normal.
The Daily Mail reported that her smart ring recorded a sharp rise in heart rate and stress from midday onward as she took on the Traitor role.
Fry used a spreadsheet to spot possible traitors, a method inspired by Alan Turing’s code‑breaking approach. She tracked who sat together at breakfast, roundtables and in vehicles, believing three traitors would not share the same space.
The mix of health data and analytical strategy makes Fry a distinctive participant. Though she expected to remain a Faithful, she turned out to be a Traitor, adding complexity to the search for who betrayed the group.
