A jewelry store owner in Lynnwood, Washington, thwarted a smash-and-grab robbery on Tuesday afternoon. The owner opened fire on a group of masked suspects after they rammed a vehicle through his storefront.
The incident occurred shortly after 12:25 p.m. at Medina Jewelers, located at 6501 196th Street Southwest. According to the Lynnwood Police Department, the suspects used a white Toyota Tacoma to crash through the front entrance, shattering glass and forcing employees to flee.
Surveillance Footage Reveals Coordinated Heist
Security footage shows three vehicles circling the parking lot before the white pickup truck accelerated into the storefront. Following the impact, several masked individuals-at least one carrying an axe-rushed inside the building.

No employees or customers were injured. Authorities are currently investigating whether any of the suspects were struck by the gunfire.
Police Investigation and Suspect Search
Lynnwood Police Commander Joe Dickenson called the daylight incident alarming. “You had several witnesses out and about, several pedestrians walking around; all of a sudden, a car crashing into a building and shots ringing out is cause for alarm,” Dickenson stated.
Police are searching for the suspects, who fled in a black BMW SUV and a silver sedan, identified as either a Toyota or an Infiniti. The black BMW may have visible damage to its front passenger side from striking a parked vehicle during the escape.
