Nearly four decades after first starring together in the iconic television sitcom A Different World, actors Kadeem Hardison and Darryl M. Bell are reuniting for a weekly rewatch podcast. Titled A Different World View with Darryl & Kadeem, the series will premiere on October 15, 2026, through iHeartMedia and Charlamagne Tha God’s Black Effect Podcast Network.
The weekly show will revisit the original groundbreaking series episode by episode. Listeners can expect behind-the-scenes accounts, discussions regarding entertainment, pop culture, and sports, alongside conversations with former cast members. The hosts will also examine the new Netflix sequel series, blending perspectives from the original production with the experiences of a new generation of performers.
A 40-Year Friendship Brought to the Microphone
Hardison and Bell are best known for portraying college students Dwayne Wayne and Ron Johnson Jr. on A Different World, a role that cemented their places in television history. Their professional relationship began even earlier when they appeared together in Spike Lee’s 1988 film School Daze. More recently, the duo traveled across the country as part of an A Different World reunion tour visiting historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
According to an October 8 announcement from iHeartMedia, new audio episodes will drop every Thursday across the iHeartRadio app and all major podcast platforms. Additionally, full video editions of each episode will be accessible on YouTube.
“I am beyond excited to finally launch the A Different World View with Darryl and Kadeem podcast,” said Darryl M. Bell in a press statement. “Kadeem and I have only wanted to do this for over 25 years, and the time is now! I also could not be happier or think of better partners than Charlamagne Tha God, his team at The Black Effect and iHeartMedia.”

Debbie Allen Set as First Special Guest
For their debut episode, Hardison and Bell will kick off their rewatch with Season 2, Episode 2 of the original series, which marked the arrival of legendary actress, director, and producer Debbie Allen to the cast and crew.
Allen will join the hosts as the podcast’s inaugural guest. Together, they will discuss how Allen initially joined the series, her early dynamic with the cast, and how the sitcom evolved under her creative leadership. Allen also serves as an executive producer on the Netflix sequel series, where she directs the premiere episode and reprises her role as Dr. Langhorne. Both Hardison and Bell are set to reprise their original characters in the new production as well.
Expanding the Black Effect Podcast Network
Executives behind the project emphasize the cultural legacy of the original television series and its ongoing resonance nearly 40 years after its television debut.
