Production for the third season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit streaming series Landman has officially begun in Fort Worth, Texas. Paramount announced the start of filming via a news release. This followed a confirmation photo shared from the set by series star James Jordan. The popular Paramount+ oil drama continues to use Fort Worth and the surrounding North Texas region as its primary backdrop.
Casting directors have started mobilizing for the new episodes. Legacy Casting opened calls for local background extras across Fort Worth and Haslet, a suburb north of the city. Paramount+ has not yet announced an official release date. Industry tracking indicates the new season is expected to arrive in 2027. This marks a shift from the annual November release windows of the first two seasons.
Returning Cast and New Additions for Season 3
Paramount confirmed the primary ensemble returning for the upcoming season alongside the production kickoff. Billy Bob Thornton reprises his leading role as Tommy. He is joined by Andy Garcia as Gallino, Ali Larter as Angela, Jacob Lofland as Cooper, Michelle Randolph as Ainsley, Paulina Chávez as Ariana, Kayla Wallace as Rebecca, Mark Collie as Sheriff Joeberg, and James Jordan as Dale. Additional major players, such as Demi Moore and Sam Elliott, are also slated to return.
The upcoming season will introduce fresh faces to the core dynamic. Michael Kelly joins the cast as William Crockett, the leader of the largest oil management firm in the world. Fans may recognize Kelly from Sheridan’s fellow Fort Worth-filmed series Lioness.
Expanded Roles for Supporting Characters
Paramount promoted four recurring actors to series regulars for Season 3 to address viewer critiques regarding supporting character depth:
- Colm Feore as Nathan, an attorney
- Mustafa Speaks as Theodore “Boss” Ramone, lead technician
- Bobbi Salvör Menuez as Paigyn Meester
- Francesca Xuereb as Cheyenne, a physical therapist
This expansion follows Taylor Sheridan addressing online viewer feedback about character development in earlier seasons. Co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Landman explores the high-stakes, modern-day world of fortune-seeking on West Texas oil rigs. Tommy launched his own independent venture, CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle, during the explosive Season 2 finale. Season 3 will dive deeper into the fallout of corporate rivalries and independent oil exploration across North Texas.
