In connection with the initial disturbance, a 19-year-old man was apprehended by officers and has since been released pending further police inquiries. Investigators are utilizing CCTV footage from the surrounding area and have established an online portal where members of the public can submit information.

A second victim, also aged 21, sustained minor injuries during the same altercation. However, officials noted that no direct arrests have yet been made in connection with Daniel Colrain’s homicide.

Detective Appeal and Community Reassurance

Detective Inspector Jonny MacKinnon of Greater Glasgow CID expressed condolences to the victim’s family, stating, “Our thoughts remain with Daniel’s family and friends at what is an extremely difficult time for them. I would like to reiterate that no arrests have been made in connection with the death at this time and extensive enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances. It is vital we get answers for Daniel’s family.”

Chief Inspector Stephen McManus addressed community concerns regarding safety in the city centre following a weekend marked by multiple disturbances and anti-social behavior. “We understand this incident will be concerning for the community, but please be assured specialist officers are carrying out extensive enquiries,” McManus said. “Increased patrols will be carried out in the area, and anyone with any concerns or information can approach these officers.”
