The Beekeeper 2 Trailer Debuts Ahead of January 2027 Release

October 15, 2026 2 min read 0 comments

Jason Statham officially returns as former government assassin Adam Clay in the explosive first trailer for The Beekeeper 2. Released on October 15, 2026, the footage sets up a wider, higher-stakes conflict ahead of the action sequel’s theatrical release on January 15, 2027, distributed by Amazon MGM Studios.

A Rogue Organization and High-Stakes Plot

The 2024 original focused on Clay’s personal mission for vengeance after a phishing scam targeted his kind landlady. The sequel expands this mythology significantly. Clay is now a wanted man tasked with protecting President Jessica Danforth from a rogue faction of the Beekeepers organization itself. Jeremy Irons’ character, Wallace Westwyld, warns Clay in the trailer that the secret group wants total control of the government and is prepared to eliminate anyone standing in their way.

The trailer leans fully into the franchise’s signature over-the-top tone, soundtracked by Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” Viewers get a glimpse of Statham’s character driving a 1969 Dodge Super Bee equipped with a passenger-side minigun, deploying flamethrowers, and utilizing his unique set of skills to take on his former allies.

New Director and Returning Cast Members

Behind the camera, Timo Tjahjanto takes over directorial duties from David Ayer, who helmed the first movie. Tjahjanto is known for directing Nobody 2 and The Night Comes for Us. Kurt Wimmer returns as a co-producer and writer, alongside screenwriter Umair Aleem. Miramax finances and produces the sequel. Statham also serves as a producer alongside Chris Long and Kurt Wimmer.

Several familiar faces round out the ensemble cast alongside Statham:

  • Jeremy Irons as Wallace Westwyld
  • Jemma Redgrave as US President Jessica Danforth
  • Emmy Raver-Lampman as FBI agent Verona Parker
  • Bobby Naderi as Matt Wiley

Newcomers joining the franchise include Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff, and professional wrestler-turned-actor Adam Copeland. Their specific character roles remain under wraps.

Release Schedule and Box Office Expectations

The original The Beekeeper proved to be a major box office success in January 2024. It pulled in $162.6 million globally against a $40 million budget and earned strong audience scores. Amazon MGM Studios secured worldwide rights for the follow-up in a deal exceeding $50 million, banking on another strong MLK holiday weekend turnout.

International fans in German-speaking Europe will receive an early look at the film. Independent distributor Leonine Studios has slated an early release for January 14, 2027, in Germany. This is one day ahead of the wider global theatrical rollout on January 15.
