Florian Zeller’s acclaimed comedy The Truth is set to return to London’s West End. It will open a strictly limited 12-week run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on July 29, 2027. Following a sold-out engagement at the Apollo Theatre, the production reunites its original star-studded quartet before embarking on an extensive UK autumn tour.
Star-Studded Cast Reunites for West End Return
Theatregoers will see the return of the original cast members who charmed audiences during their earlier 2026 run. Tony Award-nominated actor Stephen Mangan will star as Michel, a man navigating a complex web of infidelity with his best friend’s wife. Comedy icon Ardal O’Hanlon will portray Paul, alongside Sarah Hadland as Alice, and double Olivier Award-winner Janie Dee taking on the role of Laurence.
Producer Simon Friend expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming run. He noted that the cast had an exceptional time bringing Zeller’s material to life. Producers and creative teams secured the Theatre Royal Haymarket engagement through October 16, 2027, before the production transitions to regional venues across the country.
Creative Team and Plot Dynamics
Written by Academy Award-winning and two-time Olivier-nominated playwright Florian Zeller and translated by Christopher Hampton, The Truth uses sharp psychological insight and biting humor to examine modern relationships. The plot centers on Michel’s attempts to justify his affair with Alice. It questions how deception, trust, and competing versions of truth shape interpersonal bonds.
