Supermodel Gigi Hadid is instilling a grounded approach to beauty in her 6-year-old daughter, Khai. Instead of treating cosmetics as a daily necessity, Hadid teaches her daughter to view makeup as something reserved for special occasions and pure enjoyment.
Hadid shared this parenting insight before walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Sunday, October 18, at the Sony Lot in Culver City, California. Explaining the principle she hopes to pass down, Hadid told reporters, “Makeup is to be fancy, and it’s for special occasions and for fun.”
A Family Affair at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
The annual fashion event holds a special place in young Khai’s heart. Hadid noted that her daughter affectionately refers to the spectacle as the “angels show.”
“She loves this show. She calls it the angels show,” Hadid shared. “It’s very much the most sparkly and pink show there is. So as a 6-year-old girl, it makes sense it’s her favorite.”
The Culver City event also served as a family reunion on the runway. Gigi shared the spotlight with her younger sister, Bella Hadid, 30. “Everything that we can do together is special, and I am really lucky to be able to do it with my sister,” Gigi said of walking alongside Bella.
