Ocean City, Maryland, will host the return of the Boardwalk Rock music festival from May 14 through May 16, 2027. Following a one-year hiatus in 2026, the event is expanding from its original two-day format into a full three-day weekend at the Ocean City Inlet Beach. The festival will feature major heavy metal and alternative rock acts.
Festival organizers released the complete 2027 artist lineup on October 20, following an earlier confirmation of Iron Maiden’s Sunday headline performance. The daily headliners are set with Korn opening the weekend on Friday, May 14, Bad Omens taking the stage on Saturday, May 15, and Iron Maiden closing out the event on Sunday, May 16.
Festival Background and 2026 Hiatus
The 2027 program marks a strong comeback for the coastal event after it skipped 2026. The inaugural edition took place on May 17 and 18, 2025. It drew large crowds with headliners Def Leppard, Nickelback, Shinedown, and Rob Zombie.
However, plans for a second consecutive event stalled due to complex artist bookings. In November 2025, Ocean City Tourism and Business Development Director Tom Perlozzo explained that the loss of prospective headliners and the lengthy lead time required to secure replacements complicated the scheduling for 2026. Promoter C3 Presents ultimately decided against proceeding that year, framing the pause as a financial and logistical measure to ensure a stronger return.
“Boardwalk Rock quickly became a highlight of Ocean City’s spring event calendar,” Perlozzo said during the 2025 wrap-up. “While we are disappointed to take a pause in 2026, we are fully committed to working with C3 Presents to bring the festival back stronger than ever in 2027.”
Expanded 2027 Lineup and Experience
C3 Presents produces the festival. The company is the powerhouse behind national festivals like Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and When We Were Young, as well as Ocean City’s local staples Oceans Calling and Country Calling. The 2027 edition promises an extensive roster.
In addition to headliners Korn, Bad Omens, and Iron Maiden, the lineup features prominent hard rock and alternative performers including Slash, Bullet For My Valentine, and Sleeping with Sirens. Across the weekend, more than 40 bands are scheduled to perform across three distinct stages: two situated directly on the beach and one along the boardwalk.
