All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Headlining Seoul Festival

October 20, 2026 3 min read 0 comments

Netflix Korea is preparing to showcase the highly anticipated All of Us Are Dead Season 2 during a major two-day fan festival in Seoul. The landmark event, scheduled for late October 2026, marks the streaming service’s 10th anniversary in South Korea. It will highlight upcoming productions, including the zombie survival sequel and the live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling.

Reports indicate that the upcoming season has officially wrapped up filming after an extensive production period that began in mid-2025. The extended shoot required roughly seven months of principal photography and concluded in February 2026. The production schedule initially faced delays from a planned 2024 start to ensure a higher-quality environment for the show’s heavy visual effects requirements.

During the Seoul anniversary event, the series is expected to feature prominently in a dedicated showcase titled “What Next?” Fans and attendees will get a fresh look at developments in the company’s Korean entertainment lineup as the original series continues to draw massive international audiences.

What to Expect from Season 2

Following the catastrophic events at Hyosan High School in Season 1, the new episodes expand the narrative beyond the school and into the broader landscape of Seoul. The story follows survivor Nam On-jo, played by Park Ji-hu, as she transitions to university life while grappling with deep trauma and the loss of her friends. When a fresh wave of infection strikes the capital, she is forced back into a desperate fight for survival alongside new university peers.

Core surviving cast members-including Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong-san, Cho Yi-hyun as Choi Nam-ra, and Lomon as Lee Su-hyeok-are all confirmed to return. They will be joined by new additions, featuring Lee Min-jae, Kim Si-eun, Roh Jae-won, and Yoon Ga-i, bringing fresh dynamics to the ongoing global phenomenon.

Production History and Release Expectations

Netflix officially renewed All of Us Are Dead on June 6, 2022. This followed a historic debut that positioned Season 1 as one of the platform’s most successful non-English language series ever released. The first season pulled in hundreds of millions of viewing hours within its initial weeks and maintained consistent viewership in the years following.

While internet rumors have circulated regarding a late 2026 release, industry analysts and scheduling patterns suggest the show is more likely to debut in early 2027. Because post-production for a VFX-heavy zombie drama requires extensive time, Netflix’s showcase at the late October 2026 festival in Seoul’s Sangam-dong district serves as the first major public presentation for the series since its initial renewal announcement.

Director Lee Jae-kyu and writer Chun Sung-il are returning to helm the new season. They promise an expanded universe and more intense survival challenges as the viral outbreak hits the heart of South Korea’s capital.
