Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke is expanding his career beyond the BBC ballroom with his debut festive single, “Dance My Way To Christmas.” The swing-inspired track arrives on major streaming and download platforms on November 6.
The British dancer and television personality co-wrote the seasonal tune with Jacqui Hicks. Singer Lance Ellington provides the vocals. Du Beke teased an early version of the song on YouTube last year, but this marks his first official commercial entry into the holiday music market.
A Lifelong Ambition Realized
Du Beke expressed excitement about the project, calling the release a lifelong ambition fulfilled.
Launching a Christmas single is something I’ve always wanted to do, for as long as I can remember. For me, Christmas is the most magical time of year and the music played is a huge part of that and what makes it so memorable. All the favourites are rolled out, and for Dance My Way To Christmas to possibly be part of the seasonal playlists is a dream come true!
He added: “When we got into the studio with the band and Lance, it was everything I could have dreamed of. I can’t wait to share it with people.”
Building on Past Musical Ventures
This is not Du Beke’s first foray into recorded music. In 2017, he released his debut studio album, From The Top. That record showcased his passion for big band and swing music through classic covers such as “Putting On The Ritz,” “Fly Me To The Moon,” and “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.”
The new single builds on that traditional swing aesthetic. It uses a full band arrangement designed to evoke classic holiday nostalgia.
