Reality television stars Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge have ended their nine-year relationship. Wharton, 35, confirmed the separation on October 8, 2024, through an Instagram statement, describing the transition as a “new chapter.”
A Public Announcement
Wharton explained that he felt it was important to be transparent with his followers. “Taylor and I have decided to go our separate ways,” he wrote. “As hard as that is to say publicly, I think it’s important to be honest about where my life is at this moment.”
Reflecting on their history, Wharton offered an apology to Selfridge. “I’m sorry, Taylor, that things didn’t work out the way we both hoped they would. I know there were times I could’ve been better, and I’m sorry for the ways I let you down.”
Taylor Selfridge’s Perspective
Selfridge, 32, addressed the split via an Instagram Story. She confirmed that she initiated the separation, citing a lack of respect as the primary reason. “Yes I left,” she wrote. “I was sick of not getting basic respect from the person I was with for 9 years and the father of my two children. I deserve more than that and I’ll get it. End of story.”
Relationship History
The couple met in 2017 while filming MTV’s Ex on the Beach. Their relationship faced several public challenges, including past infidelity. During a 2024 episode of Teen Mom: Family Reunion, Wharton admitted to cheating on Selfridge early in their relationship.
More recently, tensions surfaced during the filming of The Challenge Season 42. Wharton’s behavior toward castmate Izzy Fairthorne drew public scrutiny.
