A violent street assault in central Paris left a woman’s husband bloodied and hospitalized after he tried to help a friend who was being attacked by a group of men. Almudena Garcia, a resident of France, shared the harrowing details of the incident during an appearance on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom on Wednesday. She recounted a scene of sudden and chaotic violence as ongoing demonstrations continue to affect cities across the country.
According to Garcia, the confrontation escalated within seconds near the center of Paris. She and her husband were preparing to leave the area when they heard screaming. They turned around to find one of their friends surrounded and beaten by a group of individuals. Without hesitation, Garcia’s husband ran toward the group to intervene and protect his friend.
“It was like a horror movie. I’ve never experienced a fear like that before,” Garcia told Fox News.
Rapid Escalation and Restaurant Rescue
What began as a confrontation involving roughly four or five individuals quickly ballooned as more people arrived. Garcia stated that additional attackers joined within moments, turning the full force of the aggression directly toward her husband.
“There were five at the beginning and four or five more just arrived in two seconds, so I just saw my husband being beat up by 10 individuals,” Garcia recounted. Panicking and fearing for her husband’s life, she screamed desperately for help as the mob continued the assault.
The situation shifted when two alert waiters from a nearby restaurant intervened. The staff rushed outside and pulled Garcia’s husband inside the establishment to shield him from the violent group. Despite the rescue attempt, several members of the mob followed them into the restaurant, pursuing him indoors before the employees finally forced the rioters back out into the street.
“Thanks to the waiters, they could finally get them out… and I got into the restaurant, and I just saw my husband all covered in blood… It was very, very scary,” Garcia said.
