
Seattle police are searching for a murder suspect following a violent drive-by shooting at a South Seattle nightclub early Sunday morning. The attack left a 36-year-old security worker dead and a 27-year-old woman seriously injured.
According to the Seattle Police Department, multiple 911 callers reported gunfire just before 1:00 a.m. on Sunday. Officers responded to the scene in the 5800 block of 4th Avenue South, located near the Georgetown neighborhood and about three blocks north of S. Michigan St.
Details of the South Seattle Nightclub Shooting
Investigators stated that a vehicle drove into the parking lot of the nightclub, and the driver opened fire, discharging multiple rounds into the area. Surveillance camera footage captured the vehicle and the gunman firing several shots toward the venue.
The gunfire struck a 36-year-old man who worked as a security guard at the establishment. First responders found that the man had succumbed to his injuries before officers arrived at the scene. A 27-year-old woman was also struck by a bullet, sustaining a serious gunshot wound to her leg.
Police officers immediately administered first aid to the female victim until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. She was subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she remained in serious condition.
Suspect Vehicle Found Burned
Less than an hour after the shooting, authorities located the vehicle believed to have been used by the suspect. The car was discovered fully engulfed in flames in another area of South Seattle. As of Sunday, no arrests had been made in connection with the attack.
Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal
Detectives with the Seattle Police Department’s Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) Unit responded to the location to gather evidence, process the scene, and interview witnesses.
