Social Security Sets October and November Payment Dates 2026

October 19, 2026 2 min read 0 comments

Millions of Americans receiving federal retirement, disability, survivor, and low-income assistance benefits face different payment dates as October concludes and November begins. The Social Security Administration (SSA) schedules regular Social Security deposits according to recipients’ birthdays. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments follow a separate calendar, which shifts November’s deposit to Friday, October 30.

According to the official SSA payment schedule cited by USA TODAY and AS USA, benefit distribution is staggered throughout the month. Beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of any month receive their October payments on Wednesday, October 21. Those born between the 21st and 31st receive theirs on Wednesday, October 28.

The Social Security Payment Schedule

The October payment cycle also included deposits distributed on Wednesday, October 14, for beneficiaries born between the first and 10th of the month. Individuals claiming benefits based on another person’s work record, such as spousal or survivor benefits, generally follow that specific person’s birthday for scheduling purposes, according to AS USA guidelines.

Key Dates for October and November 2026

  • October 14: Beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th.
  • October 21: Beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th.
  • October 28: Beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st.
  • October 30: Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment for November (adjusted due to weekend schedules).

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Adjustments

Supplemental Security Income recipients typically receive their payments on the first day of each month. Because November 1 falls on a weekend, the SSA adjusts the schedule to ensure recipients experience no delay. Consequently, the November SSI payment is distributed on Friday, October 30.

“Beneficiaries should review their individual payment calendars and banking statements to track expected deposits, keeping in mind adjustments for weekends and federal holidays,” notes standard federal guidance.

What Beneficiaries Should Do

Recipients who do not receive their expected payments on the designated dates should wait three additional mailing days before contacting the Social Security Administration directly. Direct deposit users must also verify that their banking information is up to date through their online my Social Security account to prevent any processing delays.
