Authorities in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, are actively investigating a fatal domestic incident that left a man and his 3-year-old son dead inside a guest room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun. The Monroe County Coroner’s Office and the district attorney confirmed the tragic double homicide, which unfolded on Monday afternoon, October 12, 2026, at the popular family resort located at 1 Great Wolf Drive.

The alleged perpetrator has been identified as 27-year-old Metallica Harrison of Towanda, Pennsylvania. According to court documents and local police reports, Harrison is the wife of the adult victim, Charles Harrison, and the mother of the 3-year-old boy. Following the incident, Harrison was taken into police custody and hospitalized for treatment of injuries.

Details of the Response and Investigation

Pocono Township Police Department officers responded to room 2030 at the resort around 3:15 p.m. on Monday following a 911 call placed by Harrison. According to the criminal complaint, Harrison contacted the Monroe County Control Center stating that she needed help dying and expressed that she no longer wanted to be alive.

When officers arrived at the guest room, they observed superficial cuts on Harrison’s left wrist and neck. Upon entering the room, authorities discovered Charles Harrison dead on the mattress with multiple stab wounds to his chest. Their 3-year-old son was found dead on the floor with a single stab wound to his chest.

Investigators recovered a large butcher knife with a teal green handle on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife in the bathroom sink. Resort representatives confirmed that the weapons were not items provided or kept by Great Wolf Lodge.

Statements from Officials and Resort Management

Great Wolf Lodge released an official statement addressing the tragedy:

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains. It was an isolated family incident, and we’re cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected. Out of respect for those involved, as well as the integrity of the investigation, we ask that any further information regarding this matter be directed to Pocono Township Police Department.”

Resort officials confirmed that general operations at the facility continue while a small area remains under restricted access due to the ongoing police investigation. Management has offered guests who feel uncomfortable visiting the property the option to postpone their stays to a later date without incurring change fees.
