Taylor Sheridan’s spy thriller Special Ops: Lioness has reached a major streaming milestone, remaining in Paramount+’s Top 10 most-watched shows for 216 days. This sustained popularity makes it one of the platform’s longest-running hits and a significant success for the creator of the Yellowstone universe.
A Sustained Streaming Powerhouse
Data from FlixPatrol and MovieWeb highlights the series’ remarkable longevity. While it has not yet reached the totals of legacy titles like Criminal Minds (908 days), Everybody Loves Raymond (816 days), or South Park (446 days), a 216-day run is an extraordinary achievement for a modern original drama.
The show’s success is especially notable because viewership remains high even outside of new season release windows. This suggests strong word-of-mouth growth and a loyal fanbase that continues to revisit the series.
From Mixed Reviews to Critical Acclaim
The reception of Lioness has improved significantly over time. When the series premiered in July 2023, critics gave it a lukewarm response, resulting in a 54% “Rotten” score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, audiences were more welcoming, giving it a 77% Popcornmeter score.
The series saw a dramatic jump in quality and critical approval as it progressed. Season 2 reached a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and Season 3 has maintained this momentum with a current rating of 88%. This upward trajectory proves that Sheridan’s take on the spy thriller resonates with both critics and viewers.
