Warhammer Community detailed the official transition of the Fyreslayers into the upcoming Battletome: Khazalite Holds on October 9, 2026. This major update integrates Grimnir’s fanatical berzerkers into a unified duardin army structure. It also streamlines their roster into an elite strike force.
Under the new book, Fyreslayers operate as aggressive assault troops and monster-handlers. They fight alongside the Kromdron, which provide firearms, heavy artillery, and stalwart defensive strength to the Khazalite Holds faction.
How Pure Fyreslayers Armies Survive the Transition
Veterans worried about their collections can breathe a sigh of relief. Players who prefer armies composed entirely of Grimnir’s followers can still field them. You can continue running pure forces by selecting exclusive Fyreslayers units or by using the specialized Fyrd of Fyrepeak Army of Renown rules.
The update also introduces fresh blood to the faction. This includes the wandering beastmaster Ormyr and his companion, the kyndledroth Ashtongue. They offer their services to the highest bidder while seeking vengeance for fallen magmaholds.
Units Remaining in Battletome: Khazalite Holds
While the faction is undergoing significant restructuring, several iconic characters and elite units remain active in the new battletome:
- Auric Runefather on Magmadroth
- Auric Runeson on Magmadroth
- Auric Runesmiter on Magmadroth
- Vulkyn Flameseekers
- Hearthguard Berzerkers
- Auric Hearthguard
- Grimhold Exile
- Auric Flamekeeper
- Ormyr and Ashtongue (New additions)
- Gotrek Gurnisson (Honorable mention)
Retiring Models and Warhammer Legends Transition
The merge into Battletome: Khazalite Holds brings a reduction in active roster breadth. This shift gives the faction an elite identity. Several infantry heroes are leaving the active lineup, including the Auric Runemaster, Battlesmith, Doomseeker, and Grimwrath Berzerker. The Magmic Battleforge and Magmic Invocations are also leaving.
Most notably, the foundational Vulkite Berzerkers unit is moving to Warhammer Legends. Because Vulkites served as the infantry mainstay for numerous collections, their departure will force players to pivot toward Hearthguard, Flameseekers, and heavy character support.
To ease the transition, Games Workshop confirmed that all retiring units remain fully tournament-legal in competitive matched play for 12 months. This grace period gives hobbyists a full year to run their classic lists before these models officially transition into Warhammer Legends.
