Mr. Kelly was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and James, as well as his seven sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his devoted wife, Louise (née Gavin), and a large extended family, including eleven children: Dermot, Maeve, Anthonine, Niall, Padraig, Ruth, Fergal, Sinéad, Alan, Marita, and Ultan. His family members reside across various local regions, including Lecarrow, Roscommon, Glanduff, Athlone, and Kildare.
Funeral Arrangements and Schedule
The Kelly family has released details regarding the upcoming funeral services and public gatherings to honor his memory:
- Reposing: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Padraig and Sharon, in Glanduff (Eircode N37 XD36) on Saturday, October 10, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A local traffic management plan will be in place, requiring visitors to access the house from St John’s Church in Lecarrow.
- Removal: On Monday morning, October 12, the funeral procession will depart for St John’s Church in Lecarrow (Eircode F42 P840).
- Funeral Mass: The Mass of the Resurrection will take place at St John’s Church on Monday at 11:00 AM. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be broadcast live online via Smyth’s Channel 2.
- Burial: Interment will follow immediately after the funeral Mass in the cemetery adjoining St John’s Church.
