Myha’la has become the second star banished from BBC’s Celebrity Traitors at Ardross Castle. Her dramatic exit followed a tense roundtable where the group turned against her. Her parting words to the remaining Faithfuls immediately increased scrutiny on professional mathematician and newly recruited Traitor, Hannah Fry.
The 30-year-old actor, best known for playing the calculating Harper Stern in the BBC drama Industry, entered the castle fully aware of the challenges posed by her day job. Before filming began, Myha’la actively tried to distance herself from her fictional counterpart’s plotting by choosing wardrobe pieces like cardigans that she felt Harper would never wear.
Despite her efforts to craft a different image, her television persona caught up with her during the game. Fellow contestant Julie Hesmondhalgh revealed at the roundtable that she had recently binged Industry and adored Myha’la’s performance, subsequently naming the actor as her number one suspect.
The Roundtable Banishing and the Controversial Wink
Following Julie Hesmondhalgh’s accusation, Myha’la delivered a passionate defense, but it was not enough to save her. The vote quickly stacked up against her, mirroring the earlier exit of Oscar nominee Richard E Grant.
Adding fuel to the fire, Myha’la had exchanged a friendly wink with Richard E Grant as he was banished earlier in the episode. While viewers and fellow contestants interpreted the gesture as suspicious, Myha’la later clarified that the moment had nothing to do with gameplay.
“That wink was honest to God, outside of the game,” Myha’la explained on Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked. “That was just for Richard. It was like a kindred spirit. Like, I see you, this has been really fun… I’ll see you on the other side.”
Myha’la’s Parting Warning Targets Hannah Fry
Although her time as a Faithful ended, Myha’la’s exit speech left a lasting mark on the castle dynamics. Before heading back to the Inverness Marriott hotel and revealing her true Faithful status, she delivered a pointed warning to her former allies.
“I don’t think the Traitors are as dumb or silly or confused as you think they are. I think they’re a lot smarter,” she told the roundtable.
This final remark instantly shifted attention toward Hannah Fry, who had recently been recruited into the Traitors alongside Maya Jama and James Acaster following Richard E Grant’s departure. Hannah accepted the recruitment rather than facing potential murder. She had already drawn suspicion from perceptive contestants like Miranda Hart due to her visible nervousness and changing demeanor at breakfast.
Myha’la’s departure has left the remaining Faithfuls reeling with regret over their mistake, while placing a massive target on Hannah Fry as the psychological game inside Ardross Castle continues to escalate.
